World War 2 Italian Terrain - Vineyards (Part 3 - Final)

So I am back to finishing off all the stands of vineyards.

The next step was to stick clumps of foliage down. Starting with a 'olive green bushes' and then building it up with 'light green clump' (both from woodland scenics) I went about creating some vines.

I have to say that there are many types of vines out there and the stands I made only resemble some of them. So I was quite happen with how they worked out. In the later stands I made them less 'bushy' and more scrappy which probably improved their look but I have a bit of a variety.

To be honest though I think they do the trick and for abstract terrain they get across the point of vineyards nicely.

It was a learning experience anyway!

Not sure what will be next with this build, maybe some roads, fields or buildings...

Chain of Command - Table Top Game

Hi All, Chain of Command , produced by Too Fat Lardies is one of the many World War Two table top games currently on the market. While it does not have the following of Flames of War or Bolt Action, it is still a very good game. Chain of Command - First after action report (solo game)

I have recently built and bought some Terrain for my Italian board. This was the first occasion I could pull together enough stuff to make a 4ft x 4ft board and play a game. Not everything is perfect – I want to do more work to the field, base the trees, build hills and rocky outcrops, drybrush the roads, build/buy new walls and paint more miniatures. But I finally got to play so I was very happy! I played a solo game of Chain of Command. The basic fluff was the allies have landed in Sicily and after an easy day on the beaches they begin to push inland. The scenario was flank attack with the US 82 nd Airborne attacking and the Italian Aosta Infantry Division defending. With the scenario and force rating differences the Italians had nine support points and the US had four. Hi All, As stated in my last post I am hoping to play a Chain of Command campaign with my friend. Please see below for the campaign structure: 1.0 Overview This campaign will be played using the Chain of Command Rules produced by Too Fat Lardies. 1.1 Setting The campaign is set between 20 May 1941 and 1 June 1941. The campaign starts with the German airborne landings and concludes with the allied withdrawal to Egypt. The campaign abstracts the western part of the Battle of Crete and focuses on engagements between German and Greek forces.
