Urban Gaming Board - Part 9

Finishing off the last little pieces of the board now and getting very close to the end! Firstly I painted the last of the cops/gangsters. These models were a bit harder to paint as I needed to 'make up' the detail on them as they were a bit flat/smooth. I do like the boss-man in the middle, he turned out rather well. The two on the left are some cops (agents) and the red one will be a gangster. I also finished basing the trees for the park - this was pretty boring, but an important thing to do none the less. With the park and verge trees, I have quite a forest now - should come in handy for the Italian board down the track! Finally I put some flowers around the statue in the park. The only remaining elements to finish off are optional things: painting the servo sign getting some vehicles doing the posters on the buildings I also did a little work on the servo, its not perfect, but I decided to leave it mostly as it is - I can live with it! Urban Gaming Board - Part 8

A bit more work on the board on the weekend, the part has come together and been flocked. I am looking around for a few flowers to finish it off. Otherwise I worked on some dumpsters These came out really well and look great on the board. I also received some civilians and painted them up as well! I decided to go for bolder colours with the civilians so they would stand out more. I am really happy with how they turned out. Not sure how to base my miniatures...I actually don't mind the black but wouldn't mind getting rid of the step/two base look (smooth them out - but not sure how). There is not a whole lot left to do on the board now. On the to-do list is: weathering the service station basing the trees in the park finish service station sign (optional) vehicles (optional) posters (optional) I also have three more miniatures on their way (a couple of agents for the cops and a gangster with a BAR). I am thinking the next update (or maybe the on

Urban Gaming Board - Part 7

After waiting for some extra stuff to arrive for the park I got back to working on the board. Firstly the park itself, I taped out the paths, sprayed them and 'flocked' them Next up some various scatter terrain, come for the park, others more generally around the board. The Light poles will probably go in the street and in the park. Then some statues for the park, I will probably use the horse mounted miniature for now - this will go on the weird shape in the park. Some fencing, also to delineate the edge of the park. How can I complete this project without some minis to fight over it. I decided cops and robbers would fit the scene best. I had to go with the bobbies, for the more interesting hats! That's it for this time. On the to-do list is: posters (theatre, bus shelter) petrol station sign petrol station (weathering) civilians (x5) flocking the park fence between petrol station and tenement building dumpsters

Urban Gaming Board - Part 6

Hi all, So whilst waiting for the park stuff to arrive I decided to finish off a few smaller things. First up the last board, the pieces I cut up last time got attached to board 3! The sandpaper unfortunately bubbled on board 3 (as can be seen below) but this is hidden fairly well under the service station that will go on the big empty space. This board will also get some minor line markings, but other than that they are pretty much done! Next up the tree bases finally got some matching flocking! I also completed some more scatter scenery. First up some benches (some of which will go into the park). And also some blue 'phone boxes' That's it for now. The next big job is the park which I hope to start soon (after some stuff arrives) and then its mostly down to the following details: decide if I need posters on the theatre/bus shelter (and apply) minor weathering on buildings vehicles and civilians I am really surprised I have gotten through
